William Crane
William Crane, CPA, MST, is a partner in the firm and Director of its Tax Department. Before joining the firm in 1983, he worked in the tax area of a local CPA firm for three years. Bill has extensive experience in tax planning and the compliance aspects of taxation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. He has served clients in a variety of industries, with a concentration in real estate.
Bill provides tax advice to developers of housing projects utilizing the low-income housing and new markets tax credits, and assists management with tax credit structure and compliance matters. He also provides estate tax planning and family wealth counseling for executives and owners of client entities. Bill has experience in working with financially troubled businesses, including planning for the tax aspects of insolvency, bankruptcy, and debt restructuring.
He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the Tax Division of the American Institute of CPAs. He has also testified as an expert witness regarding various complex tax and business matters. Bill graduated from Northeastern University and received a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College.
